| Sowerby Pressed Glass Basket, number 1173, circa 1882. For a great piece of early English pressed glass, look no further. It is in great condition, and has a very good makers mark, the peacock and registration diamond. Although we can find this illustrated in books with patterns for 1882 [12, 15, 48], the date diamond would suggest that the design was registered earlier, sometime in 1876. It is a beautiful black colour with a high shine on the surface. A very nice pressing from Sowerby. |
