The complete group - it would be a shame to split the group
Bristol or S J Kepple Pottery Soft Paste Porcelain Plate Blue floral flowers Iris. There is a whole variation of techniques on the plate. There is gilding around the rim and circling the flowers in the center. The rim has a blue transfer print of ivy. The flowers themselves have been handpainted. They have been painted delightfully with a lot of detail.
Sometimes Bristol Pottery was marked with a blue cross, and it is said that this was in imitation of the desirable Continental pottery at the time. It is noted in [85] that Bristol pottery was reproduced in the early 20th Century in soft paste porcelain by S J Kepple of Bristol. (The plate seems to be in soft paste porcelain). The reference also goes on to note that these were sometimes marked with a cross and a date. Perhaps this is a Bristol or Kepple pottery plate. Or perhaps you can help us identify it.
