Denbac miniature advertising bottle mignonette brandy Garnier Denert et Balichon Gres 430
Denbac miniature advertising bottle mignonette Garnier brandy Denert et Balichon Gres 430. The French term for this is mignonette. It was made in at least three different colourways and would have contained Garnier brandy or other liqueurs. It may also have had a sticky label telling of its contents. Quite an amazing piece of advertising ware at the time. Today it can be seen for what it is a beautifully designed and glazed piece of art. From the signature this probably dates from before the first world war and fits with the beautiful Art Nouveau style of the time. It is in subtle greys and browns and is slightly iridescent. Superb. You can see the same type of bottles pictured here. |
