Sowerby Queen's ware Ivory pressed glass jug with daisy motif 1331
Sowerby Queen's ware Ivory pressed glass jug with daisy motif 1331. This is marked with the peacock head of Sowerby and has a date lozenge. The lozenge has a 16 at the top, a D (?) at the right, an R at the bottom and a 1 (?) at the left so this makes the registration of 16th August 1878. It is later shown as pattern number 1331 in the 1882 pattern books. Sowerby's best and most intricate designs were used for Ivory Queen's ware and were highly priced at the time. Due to the daisy motif it has a Dresser feel, but there is no proven association and probably reflects the influence of Walter Crane. It is a beautiful glass jug. Height 4.4 cm

Width 6.7 cm

It has blemishes but these are in the making. Packaged Weight 500g
