Peter Swanson pottery bottle vase with wheatstraw ash and iron glaze
Peter Swanson pottery bottle vase with wheatstraw ash and iron glaze. Peter Swanson produces Reduction fired stoneware in his own kiln at Rosudgeon in Cornwall. He also makes his own glazes using local materials (generally a mix of ash from some burnt plant materials plus metal oxides). This makes these very unique and a lot of care from the artist has gone into the design and the craft of the piece. It is a super bottle shape with an oriental feel to the design. Peter Swanson's work is highly collectable. It has his impressed mark very clearly on the side. Height 24.5 cm
